In the next few weeks many young people (and some not so young) will be graduating from college. If you are one of those people – Congratulations! You are probably thrilled, excited, and proud of your achievement. You may also be a little stressed with all of the details and planning for the future. The library has many resources to help with all of the planning. But this week we received a new book that may help with the stress part by bringing you some much needed humor.

Check out Oh, the Meetings You’ll Go To! A Parody by Dr. Suits. Most of us remember the Dr. Seuss classic Oh, the Places You’ll Go! This book uses the same type of illustrations and quirky rhyming verses to capture all of the joys and stress of beginning this new chapter in life. You will relate to the descriptions of the job search and the difficulties of landing that first real job. Then, in true “Dr. Seuss style” verses you will learn that your dream job can sometimes seem like a nightmare. There will be setbacks and difficult people to deal with. But in the end, with lots of hard work and determination, things will work out and you will succeed.

This book can be found in the adult literature section of the library – Dewey number 818.602. This might seem confusing since it looks just like one of the Dr. Seuss children’s books. But rest assured that it is written for adults and can be enjoyed both by new graduates and those who remember this exciting, but stressful time in our lives.
