Enhancement Packs

These files are "enhancement" packs for "Gettysburg, Antietam, South Mountain or Waterloo."  All of them require that your own the original game(s), available at the time I write this (April 2001) from Firaxis Games or Breakaway Games. Also, they modify many of the graphics and scenario files from the original games, and so a utility such as Larry Hookins' "SMA Files Utility" is strongly recommended.

Antietam and South Mountain Installation Instructions

  1. Red River Campaign.  (File date: September 6, 2000, 7:30 p.m.) This enhancement pack is for Sid Meier's Gettysburg.  It utilitizes the "Gettysburg" "Fight the Battle" series of interrelated scenarios to recreate Major General Nathaniel Banks' assault on northwestern Louisiana along the Red River in March/April 1864.  It includes some of the preliminary skirmishers, the battles of Pleasant Hill and Mansfield, and some of the closing skirmishes.
  2. Battery Wagner.  (File date: September 18, 2000, 11:04 a.m.) This enhancement pack is for Sid Meier's Antietam.  It works with Sid Meier's South Mountain only if you follow the installation instructions above.  It is a single scenario that recreates the assault on Battery Wagner July 18, 1863 - the basis of the movie "Glory."
  3. Monocacy Junction.  This enchancement pack is for Sid Meier's Antietam. It works with Sid Meier's South Mountain only if you follow the installation instructions above.  It recreates Jubal Early's attempt to capture Washington, D.C. in July 1864.  This effort is currently in progress.
  4. Mexican-American War.  This enhancement pack is for Waterloo.  It will consist of a series of maps, orders of battle and scenarios that recreate the Mexican-American War of 1846-1848.  This effort is currently in progress.
