This cemetery description is copied from the book, "History of Beauregard Parish", Vol I. It is small and on private property so we decided to gather the information in this manner.
This cemetery, located about 9 miles south of DeRidder, about 3 miles west of Hwy 171, is on the Old Military Road. It was established about 1896 when Marktree Baptist Church was organized there for the Bishop and Coots families. There are four graves: 3 Bishops, 1 Blackmon. (This site, halfway between Hickory and Barnes creeks, was known as marked tree pens where cattle were penned and branded.)
